Planning Analyst (Policy)Job order - J1224-0269 - Regular Full-TimeCategoryPlanningSalary Range:$44.48 - $49.70Closing Date:December 16, 2024Job DescriptionThe City of Port Moody Community Development Department is looking for a positive, self-motivated and energetic professional to provide technical assistance and support to the Policy Planning Division as a Planning Analyst. Duties and Responsibilities:The Planning Analyst provides a wide range of technical and analytical support to the Policy Planning Division. The main responsibilities of the position include: Researching, collecting, analyzing and interpreting data to support policy initiatives Developing and maintaining spreadsheets/databases Assisting with the development of land use policies, plans and design guidelines Preparing reports and presentations Preparing zoning and official community plan amendment bylaws Performing varied work related to public consultation including attending and assisting with meetings with developers, community groups and other stakeholdersEducation and Experience: Bachelor?s Degree in Planning or a related field with two years of relevant experience in a municipal planning environment or Master?s Degree in Planning supplemented by one year of relevant experience experience in a municipal planning environment Membership or eligibility for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners Familiarity with rezoning processes and a working knowledge of zoning and land use regulations, official community plans and related policies and plans is strongly preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Sound knowledge of City bylaws, processes and policies related to land use and community planning Strong organizational and project management skills Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills A demonstrated ability to work independently, with teams and the public A proven ability to self-manage workload, respond to changing priorities and to meet tight timelines Sound research and analytical abilities with demonstrated experience in planning research, data, monitoring, policy analysis and communicating findings.
