City of DeltaSocial Planning CoordinatorThe City of Delta is looking for a full-time Social Planning Coordinator to join our Corporate Services Department. Reporting to the Social Planning Manager, the Social Planning Coordinator will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing social planning programs and initiatives that promote wellbeing and social inclusion in Delta. The Coordinator will support the implementation of Delta's Social Action Plan, focusing on Council priorities, including youth, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and supporting vulnerable population groups.Key Responsibilities Design and develop social planning programs and initiatives that address community needs and reflect Council priorities. Conduct technical research, collect and analyze data and write briefs and Council reports. Collaborate with resident and community groups to build community capacity for equity-deserving populations. Plan, coordinate, and manage social planning projects from inception to completion, and provide support on other projects as a team member. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, seek feedback from management, and adjust programs as needed to improve outcomes. Build and maintain relationships with community members, organizations, and other stakeholders and facilitate community partnerships through an equity lens while utilizing risk mitigating techniques. Facilitate/support community meetings, workshops, and focus groups to gather input and feedback on community needs and social planning programs. Summarize public consultation results for senior staff and the public; develop knowledge mobilization materials and public awareness campaigns. Work collaboratively with other departments to support interdepartmental collaboration. Prepare project reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders. Provide support in identifying and securing funding and resources needed for implementing Delta?s Social Action Plan. Assist in managing program budgets and expenditures, ensuring efficient use of resources. Participate in relevant networks, committees, and working groups, as assigned, to advance social planning goals. Act on behalf of the Social Planning Manager in their absence. Perform other duties, as required.Knowledge & Skills Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to engage with the public in person and over the phone. Experience working with diverse communities and understanding of cultural competencies. Sound research and analytical abilities in developing surveys, conducting grey literature research, data collection, analysis, and report writing. Ability to work independently, while seeking input and feedback, and successfully participate in team efforts. Initiative and sound judgement in managing workload while delivering projects on time. Professional demeanor and sound judgement when representing the City in community groups and public settings. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in producing user-friendly knowledge mobilization materials, presentations and public awareness campaigns. Knowledge of social determinants of health, social development theories and practices. Familiarity with budget reconciliation processes. Knowledge of local social services networks and resources. Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed. Grant writing and program evaluation skills are an asset.Qualifications Bachelor?s degree in Community Planning,
