Our goal is to cultivate a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the community we serve and aim to become.About the Opportunity:The Parks Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill an auxiliary full-time Arborist 1 position for a one-year term. Reporting to the Lead Arborist, the Arborist 1 does planting, pruning, hedge trimming, watering and general arboriculture and horticultural maintenance of a variety of coniferous and deciduous trees. In addition, this position is responsible for general park maintenance.Our Preferred Candidate:The ideal candidate will have: International Society of Arboriculture Certification (ISA) ISA Certified Tree Risk Assessor Current and Valid Class 5 BC Driver?s License Pesticide Applicator?s License for the Province of British Columbia 2-3 years related experience Salary: $34.89 hourly plus 14% in lieu of benefits (2024 rates)Hours per week: 40 Prior to applying, please visit our website at esquimalt.ca/municipal-hall/employment to view the job description which provides a detailed outline of key duties and required qualifications, skills, and abilities.
