Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. Work setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Tasks: Analyze the patient during the treatments. Operate ultrasound imaging equipment to produce and record images. Perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment. Supervise other specialized sonographers. Supervise students in training. Monitor examination to evaluate quality and consistency of diagnostic images, and make adjustments to equipment, as required. Train students or other medical sonographers . Record, store and process scanned images by using camera unit connected to the ultrasound equipment. Provide personnal asistance to patients during treatments. Prepare examination reports for physicians. Check ultrasound equipment to ensure proper operation. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : CRGS - Canadian Registered Generalist Sonographer. Certification by a provincial or territorial association.
