*About the Role:*
We are actively seeking an experienced and dynamic *Construction Site Safety Officer* to join our team at our *88-unit townhome* project in *Fleetwood, Surrey*. This is a pivotal role on site, where you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of everyone on-site while maintaining the highest standards of safety compliance. You will be an integral part of the team, contributing to the successful execution of the project and helping us build thriving communities.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with both municipal and provincial safety regulations.
* Monitor, implement and enhance site-specific safety plans and perform regular hazard assessments.
* Conduct safety orientations and ongoing training for all workers on-site.
* Inspect the worksite regularly to identify unsafe conditions or practices and ensure equipment is maintained.
* Document and investigate accidents, injuries, or near-misses, and ensure proper reporting.
* Develop, implement and enhance emergency response plans.
* Head, develop, implement and enhance JOSH committee.
* Conduct monthly site wide safety meetings.
* Maintain records of safety meetings, inspections, training, and incident reports.
* Enforce safety protocols and take corrective action when necessary.
* Serve as the point of contact for external safety inspectors and regulatory agencies.
* Promote a safety culture on-site and encourage workers to report hazards without fear of retaliation
* Administer first aid
* Assist in keeping site tidy and organized
* Other duties as required

*About You:*
* 5+ years of experience in the construction industry as a CSO
* Valid and up to date Intermediate Level first aid certification
* National Construction Safety Officer certification. Not required, but preferred.
* Experience with wood frame construction
* Leadership experience
* Strong, fast and calculated decision maker
* Good communication skills
* Computer competent (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Valid driver?s licence and access to reliable vehicle
