GIGG Express Inc. is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support the Controller in all financial areas from forecasting/budgeting and expense management to analytics. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting high-level analysis of revenue, credit, expenses, and overheads. You must have strong passion for quantitative analysis and high level of expertise in Excel and Accounting Systems that will support the Accounting and Finance team in establishing new and innovative ways to improve business processes, tools, and reporting. *Job Responsibilities:* * Gather and organize financial data from various departments to analyze and summarize financial results. * Support financial processes such as bank entries for multiple accounts and weekly bank reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliations, daily bank and credit card transactions schedule update and weekly cheques, EFTs/ACHs and wires review. * Monthly, quarterly, and annual QST & HST filings in compliance with Canadian tax regulations. * Complete and review monthly expense and revenue allocations between inter companies, create inter-co invoices, and ensure intercompany recording and reconciliations are done. * Preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with the accounting standards ASPE and analysis of the trends in the income statement and balance sheets accounts and prepare analytical reports identifying the KPIs for management reporting. * Assist in regulatory and year end audits, preparation of audit working papers and year end audit packages. * Support month end, quarter end and year end close process with accuracy and completeness. * Work closely with the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team, identify and investigate errors and suggest ways to improve processes in the team. * Develop and document SOPs, review and comply with the financial policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls. * Provide guidance and support to the junior accountants and clerks, review their work to ensure accuracy and compliance. * Ownership of ad-hoc projects and analysis to support business decision-making and mitigate risks. *Qualifications:* * Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Finance * Must have CPA certification or enrolled in final level * Expert knowledge of QuickBooks and Sage 300 * Possess intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel skills with the ability to create pivot tables, look up and reference formulas * Experience working with Trucking/Logistics company preferred * Knowledge of lease accounting is an asset * Inter-company accounting experience preferred * Proven track record of working with large groups or teams to implement changes resulting from financial analysis _If you meet the above qualifications, please submit your resume.
