Education: College/CEGEP. Surveying engineering. Mathematics, other. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Generate maps and related graphs and charts. Plan map content, format and design and compile required data from aerial photographs, survey notes, records, reports and other maps. Maintain and manage digital database. Maintain equipment and instruments. Process data to conduct basic analyses of trends. Write specifications and technical reports. Apply quality control procedure. Participate in field checks and verification. Perform data entry. Verify accuracy and completeness of data. Offer mentoring. Computer and technology knowledge: Computer graphic imagery system. Geographic Information System (GIS). 3D graphic software. Map creation software. Specialized equipment and systems: Stereo plotters. Remote sensing equipment. Geophysics specialization: 3D seismic. Area of specialization: Photogrammetry.
