*Role Overview:*
We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead the estimating function at Olympic International Sales. This role involves managing and mentoring the estimating team, aligning workloads with staffing needs, overseeing estimation projects, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the estimating process. The Estimating Manager will develop training programs, collaborate with sales, project management, and engineering teams, and serve as a knowledge leader in the HVAC industry. This mid-level position is critical to the company?s success, offering high visibility and the opportunity to drive strategic impact through strong leadership and industry experience.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Leadership and Team Management:*
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of estimators/takeoff specialists
* Provide training, performance reviews, and set development goals
* Guide team members to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the estimating process
* Foster a collaborative and results-driven environment to meet project deadlines and goals
*Oversight:*
* Ensure tasks are done accurately and in a timely manner
* Ensure coordination with the sales team to close estimating jobs
* Review of the daily job calendar to ensure accuracy of information
* Conduct risk assessment and coordinate with internal stakeholders to mitigate risks related to estimation and projects (alert for jobs that may require a policy 19 meeting)
* Keep up with market conditions and construction industry trends
* Participate in weekly sales meetings to align with sales strategies and objectives
* Conduct problem-solving and quality assurance as related to estimating tasks
*Collaboration and Coordination:*
* Work closely with the sales and project management teams to assess customer needs and deliver cost-effective, feasible solutions
* Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to verify scope and ensure accuracy in bid preparation
* Perform cross-functional coordination between sales, service, and parts as required
*Qualifications & Skills:*
*Education, Licenses and/or Certification, Experience Required*
* University degree or diploma in mechanical systems, mechanical engineering or similar disciplines
* 7+ years of experience in HVAC industry
* Exceptional leadership, teamwork, managerial and communication skills
* Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Entrepreneurial mindset and aptitude
* Hands-on leadership with a strategic mindset
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Ability and interest in developing people
