The Canada Games Aquatic Centre (CGAC) is a community centre for wellness and active living. With aquatic amenities, a fitness facility, massage therapy, and other offerings onsite, there is something for all ages and abilities to enjoy. Featuring the only 50-metre pool in the province, the facility hosts public swims and other gatherings for the communities of the Fundy region, along with sport tourism events that contribute to the local economy. The organization is also one of the largest providers of swimming lessons in New Brunswick.Governed by the Saint John Aquatic Center Commission, the CGAC is a registered charity that is subsidized through the Fundy Regional Service Commission.Position: Part-time MaintenanceThe Maintenance department plays a critical operational role by ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of the CGAC. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, this individual must have a strong work ethic and a high degree of regard for our customers.Summary of DutiesExtensive and thorough cleaning of the full facilityAssigned building security routines, including after-hour rentalsHandling and usage of pool chemicalsReceiving and storing inventoryLight maintenance duties (painting, shoveling, lawn care, etc.)Set up and tear down for all eventsPromptly addressing unforeseen cleaning/maintenance issues that arise during operationsOther duties as assigned by the Maintenance ManagerRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or recognized equivalentStandard First Aid with CPR-C/AED (can be obtained during the hiring process)WHMIS (can be obtained during the hiring process)Assessed QualificationsDemonstrates excellence in customer service, treating patrons with courtesy and respectAbility to work independently and efficientlyDemonstrates initiativeStrong oral communication skillsDependableAn understanding of the Canada Games Aquatic Centre's purpose and operationsPreferred QualificationsPlease clearly indicate on your resume which, if any, of these qualifications you possess:Preference may be given to individuals with other post-secondary education and/or experience in maintenance operationsKnowledge of chemicals, handling of chemicals, or any pool experience considered an assetPreference may be given to bilingual (English/French) candidatesCompensationStarting @ $15.30/hourAn individual membership to the Canada Games Aquatic Centre, provided sufficient hours are workedConditions of EmploymentCurrent acceptable Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector checksMust maintain certificationsAvailable to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysHow to ApplyPlease apply electronically by submitting your resume to Ernie Breau: ernie.breau@aquatics.nb.ca, clearly indicating you are applying for the Part-time Maintenance position.
