As a Network Support Technician, your primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth functioning and maintenance of computer networks within the organization.
*Education and Certifications:*
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· A degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.
· Industry-recognized certifications can be highly valuable, such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and/or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator and/or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
*Technical Skills:*
· Proficiency in network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing, and switching.
· Operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)
· Software installation and configuration
· Experience with network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
· Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
· Understanding of wireless networking concepts and technologies.
· Familiarity with network security principles and practices.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve network-related issues.
· Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems efficiently.
*Communication Skills:*
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with end-users, colleagues, and management effectively. The ability to convey technical information in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical users.
*Time Management:*
The capacity to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines.
*Teamwork and Collaboration:*
Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other IT professionals to resolve complex issues.
*Adaptability:*
Networks are constantly evolving, so a network support technician should be adaptable and willing to learn new technologies and concepts.
*Customer Service:*
A customer-centric approach to provide support and assistance to end-users and ensure their satisfaction.
*Additional Notes:*
After work, on call shift.
Field trips might be required on certain occasions. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. weight.
