Financial Reporting SupervisorMake cents of accountability Join our Financial Services team and help create Kelowna as a City of the Future. We are looking for a Financial Reporting Supervisor to be responsible for the direction, coordination and preparation of the corporate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Duties include internal and external financial reporting, including annual statutory reporting and corresponding audit, developing managing financial models, benchmarking and analysis. This position will support strategic informed decision making through the assessment, development and implementation of timely financial reporting.QualificationsCandidates should have a bachelor?s degree in business or a related field and a CPA designation with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably in local government finance. In-depth knowledge of and experience with accounting standards (PSAB, GAAP) is required. Familiarity with the Community Charter/Local Government Act, Bylaws, Council policies and Provincial Ministry reporting requirements and practices as well as knowledge of Municipal Benchmarking and familiarity with PC based software (Excel, Word) is an asset. The successful candidate will have excellent strategic thinking along with strong communication, teambuilding, and interpersonal skills to effectively supervise staff and build strong working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
