Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Asset languages: Portuguese. Spanish; Castilian. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Wet/damp. Work setting: Various locations. Commercial. Industrial. Residential. Construction site. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems. Prepare tenders and quotations. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Schedule personnel, tools and equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing. Supervise other workers. Estimate costs and materials. Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification. Backflow prevention Certification. Member of the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA). North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) solar heating installer Certification. Ontario Water Works Association (OWWA). Plumber Trade Certification. Working at heights training. Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) clearance Certificate. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Confined Space Entry Training. Driver's License (Class 3 or D). Well Pump License. Natural Gas License. Liquefied Petroleum Gas License. CADD Course. Plumber Red Seal Certificate. Gas Fitter Red Seal Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Specialization or experience: Green economy sector.
