*Position Overview:*
Renewal Development is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join our small and quickly growing team.
*Financial management experience in the construction industry is a key asset. *
The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to provide strategic guidance to support organizational growth.
*Responsibilities:*
* Manage the full cycle accounting.
* Oversee and motivate the accounting and office administrator.
* Coordinate year-end and corporate filing processes, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
* Lead budget management efforts, including overseeing company wide and divisional budgets, cash flow projections, and financial forecasting.
* Develop and maintain budgetary controls, monitoring expenditures and variances to ensure financial stability.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and manage company wide and divisional budgets.
* Liaise with external stakeholders in support of the project management team.
* Liaise with banks and other financial institutions.
* Manage payroll.
* Some HR duties such as management of the benefits plan as well as support of employment contracts.
* Manage contracts and insurance agreements to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
* Oversee document management systems, including Google Drive, to maintain organized and accessible financial records.
* Conduct regular financial analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
* Maintain organized and accessible financial records using document management systems such as Google Drive.
* Implement and maintain asset management systems to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
* Support grant applications and reporting.
* Support business decision making with ad hoc analyses.
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in the real estate or construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Sage/Corecon, Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Google Sheets, QuickBooks, or similar software preferred.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
* Proven leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
*Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000 per yea*r (based on relevant experience)
40 hrs / week
$50 / mo internet and cell phone allowance
Start date: January 15th, 2025
Minimum three days a week in office (Olympic Village)
