*Overview*
The AFL is seeking a Director of Communications and Campaigns to lead AFL?s communication strategies and campaign initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in campaign management, media relations, and team leadership.
*Key Responsibilities*
· Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to enhance AFL?s public profile.
· Manage and coordinate campaigns that support AFL?s strategic objectives.
· Oversee the creation of engaging content for various platforms, including social media, newsletters, and press releases.
· Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists.
· Collaborate with AFL staff and member unions to develop campaign strategies and materials.
· Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
· Train and manage volunteers for campaign activities such as canvassing and phone banking.
*Requirements and Qualifications*
· Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field.
· Minimum of five years of experience in communications, campaign management, or a related role.
· Experience writing press releases and speeches.
· Experience developing and managing relationships with media.
· Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing.
· Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
· Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
· Experience with volunteer coordination and event planning.
· Commitment to the goals and objectives of the labour movement.
