(Al-Pac) is seeking a *Mechanical Engineer*, to work out of our mill site near Athabasca, Alberta. Reporting to the Manager Engineering, the job is responsible for performing engineering duties for Al-Pac facility, and equipment, with regards to design, reliability, maintainability, and upgrades. *Who Are We?* Al-Pac is the largest single-line kraft pulp producer in North America. Assess, design, plan and coordinate activities for the maintenance, continued performance, and improvement, of mill equipment, utilities, structures, facilities, roads, earthworks, and other systems. * Engineering Inspections - Carry out inspections to evaluate the quality of engineering works and / or the integrity of existing equipment, installations, and structures, and make recommendations on remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements. * Engineering Standards Specification ? Create and maintain engineering standards for internal and external use that comply with codes, regulations, best practices and Al-Pac requirements. * Professional Practice ? Adhere to all APEGA requirements including informal mentoring and monitoring of E.I.Ts and Technologists. * Participate in capital expenditures by developing operational and maintenance requirements. * Participate in strategic discussions for Al-Pac. *Role Requirements* * Degree in Engineering; Registered as a P.Eng with APEGA (or be eligible to register). * 5+ years progressive, related experience. * Manufacturing, industrial plant and/or supply chain experience is desirable. *Other: * * Knowledge and comprehension of applicable codes, regulations, and best practices (ASME, IEEE, CEC, API, ASTM, CSA, Building, OH&S etc). * Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external individuals and teams. * Ability to manage multiple, tasks and projects of varying complexity. * Ability to make decisions and maintaining accountable. * Strong organizing and record management skills. * Strong engineering, technical computer skills (AutoCad Suite, SAP etc). * Strong generalized computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, MS Teams etc). *What We Offer* * A competitive annual salary including a company-paid pension at 7% and matching RRSP up to 3%. * Company-paid dental and extended health benefits, including a health care and taxable spending account and supplemental life insurance. * Compressed work schedule (Monday-Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). * Four week?s annual vacation to start, increasing with years of service. * Relocation Assistance Program, depending on eligibility. * Team-based culture that encourages work-life balance.
