Journeyman (Electrician)INTERNAL/EXTERNAL POSTINGAs per Article 8.05 of the Collective AgreementFull-Time Permanent Position Located in the beautiful West Kootenay region of British Columbia, the City of Rossland is a progressive municipality of approximately 4,000 people known for its proximity to world-class outdoor recreation, heritage architecture and arts & culture atmosphere. Located only two and a half hours from the City of Spokane, Washington and three kilometers from the base of Red Mountain Resort (within City limits), Rossland is rapidly growing into a first-class, all-seasons BC Resort Municipality. We are currently seeking an individual who is hard working and willing to grow with the City. We are looking for a motivated employee who works well as a team player and who shows initiative in problem solving and efficient completion of work. Requirements: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Journeyman ticket in electrical and be willing to train in equipment operation, snow removal and infrastructure repair and maintenance. Preference will be given to applicants with a valid Fortis CAT 2 & CAT 3 certification, instrumentation and with knowledge in municipal infrastructure and equipment operation. Considerable knowledge of the safety precautions and hazards applicable to the work. Class 5 drivers license with air brakes (class 3 preferred). This position will be a day shift position conducting electrical work as well as general maintenance and infrastructure repairs. Overtime duty, on-call duty and call out duty will be required. Qualifications to set you apart from other applicants will be confined space training, equipment operation, snow plowing experience, road maintenance, and knowledge in municipal infrastructure. Assets for this job would be knowledge of SCADA, process control, pumps, water meter maintenance and general municipal infrastructure repairs and maintenance. This is a Regular, Full-time CUPE Local 2087 bargaining position and offers a rate of pay of $41.06 per hour (Paygrade 8) with benefits outlined in the Agreement. The City offers an extensive benefits package as per the Collective Agreement.
