Fort Vermilion School Division <p>Mental Health Therapist <p>The Fort Vermilion School Division is accepting applications for a Mental Health Therapist (1.0 FTE) to coordinate and provide services in High Level and surrounding communities. The Mental Health Therapist will work within a collaborative team that provides a range of prevention, proactive and intervention services within inclusive school environments in an effort to develop, nurture and enhance the mental and emotional wellbeing of children, youth and families.<p>Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and characteristics: <p><p> Master?s Degree in Counseling/Educational Psychology/Social Work with clinical designation or related health sciences field<p> Eligible for membership with the appropriate professional body in Alberta if applicable<p> 3 years? experience in child, youth and family counseling<p> Experience in clinical assessment and therapy<p> Strong organizational and case management skills<p> Experience with universal and targeted skill building programming in schools<p> Strong understanding of an educational setting<p> Ability to establish rapport with students, families and community agencies<p> Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills<p> Experience leading a team<p> Ability to lead and supervise others<p> Valid driver?s license and reliable vehicle required<p> Understanding of local cultures an asset<p> Knowledge of Fort Vermilion School Division schools and community agencies an asset<p><p>Start Date: September 3rd, 2024 <p>Hours: 35 hours per week<p>Salary & Benefits: <p><p> Salary range from $78,000 to $92,941 per year, depending on qualifications and experience<p> Benefits will be provided after 90 calendar days of employment.<p><p>Specific details regarding this position may be obtained from Natalie Morris, Associate Superintendent of Learning / Supervisor of Learning Services - Connectivity at nataliem@fvsd.ab.ca.<p> <p>Application must include: <p><p> A cover letter<p> A resume outlining educational background, including post-secondary education and experience <p> Transcripts of post-secondary education <p> Names, addresses, and contact information of at least 2 current references<p><p>Vulnerable Sector Check & Intervention Record Check: <p><p> A Vulnerable Sector Check and Intervention Record Check (if applicable) will be required prior to employment.<p> Click here for more VSC / IRC information.
