We are a dynamic company that is expanding throughout the Cowichan valley area. We are looking for compassionate and passionate HEALTH CARE ASSISTANTS to join our team! Our medication centered interventions provide our clients with the support and care they rely on to remain living in the community. JOB SCOPE * Visiting patients every day in the community * Administering medications (orally, creams, patches) * Performing patient specific assessments * Interpreting assessment data to adjust medications accordingly * Acting in acute situations according to pre-set company protocols * Noting changes in behavior for mental health patients * Documentation of all interventions and assessment data * Submitting daily reports to pharmacy * Following up with Pharmacy regarding significant assessment data * Actively participating in patients? healthcare outcomes * Performs other related duties as required * NO assistance with personal care or ADL?s * NO night shifts We are looking for Health Care Assistants/ Aide with the following qualities: * Highly motivated with a strong work ethic * Caring, friendly attitude * Strong customer service, leadership, and communication skills * Ability to work proactively as a member of a dynamic team * Enthusiasm to contribute positively in the community in a healthcare setting * Reliability and dedication are VERY important in this role * Looking for long term applicants only Position Requirements * BC Driver's License * Reliable vehicle for times the company vehicle is unavailable * Graduate from a Health Care Assistant program and membership with the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry or equivalent combination of education or experience. * Criminal Record Check will be requested upon successful offer * First Aid/CPR Certificate * Must be available weekends License/Certification: * CPR Certification (required) * BC Care Aide Registered (required) * Driving License (required) * Medication Administration Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour Schedule: * Day shift * Every Weekend Education: * Secondary School (preferred) Experience: * Medication administration: 1 year (required) Licence/Certification: * Driving Licence (required) Work Location: On the road
