Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Professionalism in customer service. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform brake adjustments. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AZ class license. DZ class license. Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Dump truck. Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Trip recorder (on-board computer). Transportation/travel experience: Local. Short-haul. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Flexibility. Judgement. Organized. Reliability.
