*Job Summary* We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented *part time* Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our optometry practice. This position involves assisting with various tasks related to patient management, optical sales, and laboratory functions. A strong background in retail sales or medical terminology is preferred, as well as a passion for helping others. *Duties* * Greet patients and assist them with check-in and check-out processes. * Conduct preliminary tests and gather patient information for the optometrist. * Assist in the fitting and dispensing of eyewear, including glasses and contact lenses. * Maintain an organized inventory of optical products and supplies. * Provide education to patients regarding eyewear options and proper care. * Support the optometrist during examinations by preparing necessary equipment and instruments. * Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records using Epic software. * Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards while interacting with patients. *Experience* * Previous experience in a retail or optical environment is highly desirable. * Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care is a plus. * Experience with laboratory processes related to eyewear production is beneficial. * Retail management experience can enhance your candidacy for this role. * Strong sales skills are essential for promoting optical products effectively.
