Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Address customers' complaints or concerns. Drive lighter, special purpose trucks. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform brake adjustments. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks). Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles). Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Type of trucking and equipment: Tow truck. Security and safety: Bondable. Transportation/travel information: Drive manual transmission vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel overnight. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Large workload. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Sitting. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Organized. Reliability. Hardworking. Patience. Experience: Experience an asset.
