We are currently seeking a Senior Industrial Designer to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our truck body designs.
*Position Summary:* As a Senior Industrial Designer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing truck bodies that meet the needs of our diverse client base. You will collaborate with the engineering teams, product managers, and other departments to create solutions that enhance functionality, durability, and aesthetics. The ideal candidate will bring strong design skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and experience in the transportation or heavy-duty vehicle industry.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Lead the design process for new truck body concepts from ideation to prototype and production, ensuring they meet safety, functionality, and aesthetic standards.
* Develop detailed design specifications, 3D models, and renderings using CAD software.
* Work closely with engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure the designs are feasible and cost-effective for mass production.
* Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, customer needs, and competitor products to inform design decisions.
* Provide technical expertise in materials, manufacturing techniques, and sustainable design practices.
* Create and refine product designs while balancing technical requirements, user experience, and cost constraints.
* Oversee and mentor junior designers, providing guidance and feedback throughout the design process.
* Test prototypes, gather feedback, and make necessary design adjustments to optimize performance and safety.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
* Present design concepts and final products to clients, stakeholders, and upper management.
*Qualifications:*
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in industrial design, preferably with a focus on vehicle or truck body design.
* Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, or similar) and 3D modeling.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., welding, metal fabrication, injection molding, etc.).
* Knowledge of materials selection and their properties for manufacturing durability and performance.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to innovate within technical constraints.
* Strong communication and presentation skills to interact with clients and stakeholders.
* Ability to work well in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
* Experience with the design and production of custom or specialty vehicles is highly desirable.
