This competition will be used to establish an inventory of qualified candidates to fill Elevator Inspectors positions (permanent) throughout the department's regional operations. Specific locations have not been determined.What you will do As an Elevator Inspector and a member of the Technical Inspection Services unit, the successful candidate will be responsible for technical inspection work on various types of elevator and lift installations and amusement rides to ensure compliance with technical codes and standards and regulations under the Elevator and Lifts Act. Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following: Behavioural competencies: The successful candidate will possess the following behavioural competencies:Self-Control and Stamina Concern for Order Effective Interactive Communication Client Service OrientationTechnical competencies: The successful candidate will possess the following technical competencies:Specialized Subject Matter Expertise Ability to Use Office Technology, Software and Applications Planning and Organizing SkillsNeed to have Candidates must be certified as an elevator mechanic and have at least four (4) years of experience in the trade as well as a valid driver's license. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal history clearance and security clearance check. Some opportunities may require written and spoken competence in English. Please state your language capability. Candidates must demonstrate on their applications how they have acquired the education and experience for this position. Your résumé should be in chronological order specifying education and employment in months and years including part-time and full-time employmentNice to HavePreference may be given to candidates who possess a QEI (qualified elevator inspector) certification.OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirement(s) is also required:Travel within the Province and possession of a valid driver's licenseSubject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.Wage $2,341.00-$2,948 bi-weekly ($60,866-$76,648 annually)What can GNB offer you?
