Under the direction of Chef Best, Skinny Duke's has become well-known for it's innovative approach to elevated dishes; combining classic techniques with original flavours and creating unique offerings unlike any other. We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual to fill the position of Sous Chef at Skinny Duke's, with the potential to grow within the company. Responsibilities:
* Responsible for upholding company values + standard of hospitality; ensures team does so as well
* Ensure team is prepared + set up for the evening, understands responsibilities; motives and supports team throughout service
* Prep for service, and next day
* Work closely with Head Chef to create nightly/weekly specials; ensure specials are costed properly
* Oversee the overall flow of kitchen + service; execute dinner service either cooking on a station or running the line as needed
* Ensure food quality + timing meets restaurant standards
* Responsible upholding sanitation, health and safety standards
* Develop + empower BOH team; responsible for training of all new and existing staff; assist Head Chef + Exec Chef with interviewing, hiring and training and scheduling
* Work closely with Executive Chef + Chef on menu planning and development
* Assist Head Chef with inventory management, period end, BOH invoices; identify discrepancies with inventory or period end and take corrective action
* Manage and execute food ordering, ensure budget is being followed and costs are being updated
Skills & Requirements:
* 2-5+ years? experience
* FoodSafe Certificate
* Ability to work without close supervision
* Team management skills
* High level of attention to detail
* Ability to produce good quality food in all sections
* Good oral communication
* Team player qualities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
