Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Oil and gas industry. Tasks: Prepare engineering designs and drawings. Read blueprints to determine work requirements . Develop and prepare design sketches. Write specifications. Examine drawings for conformity and errors. Consult with client, engineers or production specialists to establish product requirements. Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Type of drafting: Shop drawings. Computer and technology knowledge: Computer-aided design (CAD). AutoCAD. Area of specialization: Mechanical. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Team player.
