We are the largest supplier of Stranders used in the production of Oriented Strand Board (OSB) and other wood-based composites. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Electrical Team as a Mechatronics Engineer. We offer a competitive salary, bonuses, and benefits, along with a great work-life balance. *The Role:* Reporting to the Manager of Digital Transformation and Automation, the primary responsibility of the Mechatronics Engineer will be to design, specify, and integrate new and/or prototype equipment developed or supplied by Kadant Carmanah Design. *Responsibilities:* * Create and customize electrical/control system designs for OEM equipment. * Travel to client sites worldwide to start equipment and train customers. * Upgrade existing designs for cost reduction and to address obsolescence. * Lead R&D projects through product development stages. * Assist sales, engineering, operations, and procurement teams with electrical expertise. * Proactively help solve customer problems when they are urgent. * Develop innovative solutions to the ?standard way? of doing things. * Technical liaison for suppliers and customers. * Electrical component selection. *Qualifications:* * Bachelor?s degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics or equivalent. * *Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design and control systems.* * Proficiency in Eplan and Rockwell software. * Demonstrated progression of responsibility in previous roles. * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. * Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. * Proven ability to work independently without supervision. * Track record of innovation in previous roles. * Legally able to drive and travel outside Canada. A valid driver's license and passport are required. *Other preferred skills:* * Experience with other control system software and tools. * Experience in the use of industry standards and best practices. * Eplan certification. * Project Management. * Industrial site experience doing startups.
