Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Work setting: Maintenance. On-site customer service. Repair. Testing. Service. Tasks: Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electro-mechanical equipment. Use machining tools to fabricate or recondition parts. Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and other components. Wind, assemble and install various types of coils. Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors. Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance. Area of specialization: Electric motors. Transformers. Switchgears. Industrial motors.
