In Situ is comprised of a specialized group of archaeologists, anthropologists, technicians and project managers focused on the long history of the landscape we inhabit in our daily lives. The strong relationships we continue to build throughout the Northwest Coast of British Columbia allow us to offer effective solutions to a wide range of clients and project types. In collaboration with First Nation Governments, it is our mission to contribute to a deeper understanding of the archaeology of British Columbia.
The Project Manager position is a technical role responsible for providing support throughout the lifecycle of a project.
In this role you would be expected to be knowledgeable about all aspects of your projects and In Situ's policies and procedures as it pertains project management. This position requires the handling of sensitive information, exercising initiative and judgment to plan projects and respond to challenges on behalf of our clients and stakeholders.
The Project Manager reports to, and takes day-to-day direction from In Situ?s Project Team Lead, while working closely with Senior Archaeologists, Lab staff and Administrative staff.
*This role requires that the Project Manager:*
· Provides complex support to achieve successful project outcomes, working closely with project team members to coordinate work processes and establish work priorities.
· Supports regular and ad hoc meetings, working with stakeholders, clients, external vendors, arranging project logistics, and drafting estimates.
· Maintains and tracks detailed project records relating to action items, project milestones, outcomes, and any carry forward business arising from meetings.
· Ensures an overall awareness of your projects and understanding of all activities and events, meetings to enable effective prioritization and provide appropriate support.
· Facilitates project scheduling, including notifications of work to stakeholders.
· Resolves problems and escalates issues appropriately.
· Updates stakeholder tracker and other related databases as required.
· Performs other duties as required.
· Expected to exercise judgment in establishing priorities and carrying tasks through to completion in a timely manner.
*Qualifications*
· High School graduation and two year post-secondary diploma. 2 years related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Intermediate understanding and experience with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office suite (including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
· Ability to work effectively under pressure, handle high volumes and meet tight deadlines.
· Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and reprioritize as needed.
· Develop a broad understanding of policies and procedures in order to work within established practices.
· Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
· Ability to exercise a high level of tact, diplomacy and discretion in developing and maintaining collaborations with team members, clients, industry and community leaders.
· Knowledge of British Columbia?s policies/ laws related to Archaeology, Cultural Resource Management and the Heritage Conservation Act is an asset.
· Experience collaborating with First Nation Governments is an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00-$36.00 per hour
