Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Construction. Renovation. Industrial. Residential. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Personal suitability: Client focus. Excellent oral communication. Judgement. Team player. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Other benefits: Learning/training paid by employer. Other benefits.
