Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Land use planning and management/development. Surveying engineering. Surveying technology/surveying. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Various locations. Willing to relocate. Construction company. Tasks: Develop survey plans, methods and procedures for conducting legal surveys. Prepare all data and documents related to surveys of real property boundaries. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Supervise the preparation and compilation of all data and documents related to surveys of real property boundaries. Plan, direct and supervise or conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries of properties. Record all measurements and other information obtained during survey activities. Certify and assume liability for surveys made to establish real property boundaries. Advise and provide consultation on matters related to legal surveys. Analyze, manage and display data using geographic information systems and computer-aided design and drafting. Determine precise locations using electronic distance measuring equipment. Survey and lay out subdivisions for rural and urban development. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by federal, provincial or territorial authorities. Licensure by the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors (ACLS). Computer and technology knowledge: ArcGIS. AutoCAD. MS Access. MS Excel. MS PowerPoint. MS Project. MS Word. Computer-aided design (CAD). Field skills experience: Operate survey equipment. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Survey specialization: Construction. Engineering. General urban. Land development. Topographic. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own vehicle. Willing to travel. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
