Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Determine materials required. Lay out reference points and patterns. Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently. Study engineering drawings and blueprints. Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures. Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines. Construct patterns and templates. Install fabricated components in final product. Rig, hoist and move materials to storage areas or within worksite. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Conduct quality control. Communicate with other workers to co-ordinate the preparation and completion of work assignments. Ensure safety procedures are followed. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Specialized machining processes: Water jet. Equipment and machinery experience: Brakes and presses. Cutting torches. Shears. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Forklift. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Organized. Reliability. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Do you have previous experience in this field of employment?. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
