Posting Number : T 24 - 413 Date Issued: December 6, 2024POSITION Worksite : Student Services- Various SchoolsContract Type: Temporary, Full-Time Assignment Area(s): District Counsellor Salary Range: $59,711 109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)Please Note: The assignment within this position may not be identical to the assignment in this posted position.Effective Date: Immediately, until not further than February 7, 2025 (or return of teacher)Deadline for Applications: Monday, December 16, 2024 12:00 pmElectronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of 2 current supervisors who can comment on your teaching.Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment Master's degree, recognized by the College of Teachers, in counselling psychology or a related discipline with a focus on behaviour disorders and counsellingknowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as outlined in the Manual of Policies, Procedures and Guidelines for Special Education Services, as it relates to behavior and mental health supportdemonstrated ability to collect behavioural information and performing behavioural screening and/or assessments in order to complete Functional Behavioural Assessmentsknowledge of and demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of CBIEPs in consultation with the classroom teacher(s), parent(s), student and district personneldemonstrated commitment to working with FESL data including EDI, MDI, YDI, Student Learning Survey, FSA, attendance, transitions etc.working knowledge of the Ministry of Education's Mental Health in Schools Strategy and Key Principles and Strategies for K-12 Mental Health Promotion experience and leadership in supporting students, families and staff using the First Peoples Principles of Learning and the Medicine Wheel Philosophy at the elementary, middle and secondary levelsability to work with the Indigenous Education department on Indigenization of social emotional and mental health curriculumdemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with district learning services departments (Indigenous Education, Curriculum and Student Services) to support students and school staffability to implement holistic plans and strategies focused on balance, wellness and restorative methods which maintain the dignity of all students, families and communityexperience in the implementation of social emotional learning, mental health literacy and trauma-informed practicesdemonstrated understanding of, and experience with District Safe, Caring and Orderly Schools' policies, protocols and proceduresextensive knowledge of core and curricular competencies as they apply to the collaborative development of competency-based IEPs demonstrated leadership experience in supporting teachers as they develop learning plans (CBIEPs, SLPs and PBSPs) that meet the needs of students with diverse abilities and disabilitiesdemonstrated working understanding of district-wide information systems including My Education BC and eInsightexcellent leadership and communication skills; a strong team player demonstrated ability to support school-based staff in working with students who have complex learning needsknowledge of research and best practice in instructional strategies, programs and resources to meet the needs of a broad range of students with disabilities and diverse needs.demonstrated understa
