Lonsdale Energy CorporationSenior Project ManagerTemporary Full-time Located at the urban core of the beautiful North Shore with convenient access to major regional and global centres, Lonsdale Energy Corporation (Lonsdale Energy) continues to expand and develop a District Energy System that currently services 110 buildings and over 7700 dwellings. Having recently committed to ambitious decarbonisation targets, Lonsdale Energy has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a strategic, collaborative and results oriented Senior Project Manager to join our team for approximately three years. Under the general direction of the Deputy Director, this position facilitates all aspects of design, construction, and project management of Lonsdale Energy Major Projects. This includes a large heat generation project and large underground distribution project. Duties include preparing selection criteria and evaluating consultant and contractor?s proposals; coordinating and participating in the preparation of reports, tender documents, and contracts for projects to ensure they are completed on time and on budget. As a Senior Project Manager, you will act as a liaison and coordinator between Lonsdale Energy, consultants, construction firms, and other interested, affected, or relevant parties to ensure desired results. Duties may include preparing project schedules and budgets; attending project committee meetings as a resource person; presenting to board and city council, reviewing and soliciting reviews of plans and working drawings at various stages for conformance to project guidelines and established standards. You?ll also prepare and maintain a variety of materials such as records, technical and status reports, correspondence, and project specifications; review all invoices, change orders, and other payment claims for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, recommend approval or other actions to your manager. The Senior Project Manager will be tasked with overseeing the delivery (detailed design and construction) of new heat generation projects. These projects are expected to significantly decarbonise Lonsdale Energy?s district energy system. With the help of the consultant teams, you?ll ensure that all work performed is in accordance with contractual terms and established regulations; you?ll arbitrate disputes regarding contract interpretations, construction practices, standards, and methods; review and advise on proposed changes; and monitor and assess construction progress. You will oversee the development and implementation of sustainable design criteria, construction standards, drawing standards, and adherence to OHS policy and training. You will supervise the work of contractors and consultants, build and maintain effective relationships with the public and internal and external contacts. You have a degree in a related discipline (e.g. Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management etc), professional designation (e.g. P.Eng) and 7 - 12 years of progressive experience managing complex medium size building construction projects or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Municipal experience, experience working with district energy and project management professional designation (PMP) are preferred. Proven communication and collaboration skills are essential in this role, along with strong organizational skills, experience in contract management, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity. A valid Class 5 BC Driver?s License is also required.During the recruitment process, applicants will be requested to provide a current Police Information Check (PIC).Through the City of North Vancouver, LEC offers an attractive remuneration package for this temporary exempt position, including a compressed work schedule and a 35-hour work week.
