Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Tree and orchard fruit. Tasks: Organize tasks to accomplish the work. Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts. Tie and secure plants. Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality. Weeding. Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain quality control and production records. Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations. Perform general farm duties. Supervision: More than 20 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Pesticide Applicator's Licence. Type of crops: Apples. Equipment and machinery experience: Automated irrigation system. Fertilizer applicator. Harvesters. Sprayer or duster. Tractor. Vegetable or fruit harvester. Forklift. Area of specialization: Agricultural crop service. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Overtime required. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear.
