Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Rural area. Mines and quarries. Tasks: Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Establish work schedules. Oversee safety of operations. Train or arrange for training. Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions. Prepare production reports. Advise senior management. Ensure adherence to safety regulations. Confer with other managers to set production quotas and to plan extraction sites. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Judgement. Team player.
