Located in the heart of Maple Bay, Duncan; The Maple Bay Yacht Club offers a unique blend of quiet luxury, relaxation, and breathtaking views. Our members and visitors enjoy a variety of hospitality-hosted events, including weekly movie nights, and holiday-themed activities. The club also accommodates event bookings, creating opportunities for members to socialize and celebrate together. We are now looking to add an enthusiastic, customer-focused bartender to our team to help elevate the exceptional experience we provide to our members.
*Position Overview:*
The bartender will be responsible for providing high-quality service by preparing and serving beverages in a professional and efficient manner. In addition to these core duties, the role requires flexibility to take on additional tasks as needed for events hosted by the Club. This may involve assisting with event-specific preparations, supporting event logistics, and ensuring seamless service during high-volume periods. The bartender will collaborate closely with event coordinators and other staff members to help deliver an exceptional experience for members and guests alike, adapting to the dynamic needs of both regular operations and special events.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Bar:* Responsible for opening and closing the bar and ensuring the bar is well stocked
before and after shift.
*Guest Service:* Serve drinks, engage with guests, and ensure responsible alcohol service.
*Maintain Cleanliness and Order: *Keep the bar and surrounding area clean, manage
inventory, and handle waste. Wipe down and adjust tables and chairs; vacuum as
required
*Transaction Management:* Process payments, manage cash and credit transactions.
*Collaboration and Coordination:* Work with event volunteers to ensure smooth service,
including assisting with food handling as needed.
*Post-Event Clean-Up: *Clean the bar area, manage leftover food, handle dirty linen, and
break down equipment.
*Inventory and Financials:* Check inventory, restock as needed, reconcile cash, and
report any issues or damage.
*Other:* Opening and/or locking up at the commencement or completion of a shift.
Maintain respectful and open working relationships with Governing Board, Committee
Chairs, Club Administrator and Dockmaster.
*Qualifications:*
* Prior bartending experience (preferred, but not required)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently
* Knowledge of drink recipes and cocktail preparation
* Must be at least 19 years old
* Serving it Right certificate
* Flexible schedule, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
* Positive attitude, team player, and attention to detail
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.40-$18.59 per hour
Expected hours: 15 ? 20 per week

Experience:
* serving: 1 year (preferred)
* Bartending: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
* Smart Serve (preferred)
