Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Non-smoking. Work setting: Rural area. Work in employer's/client's home. Tasks: Administer bedside and personal care. Administer medications. Assist clients in water (i.e. pool). Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene. Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk. Change non-sterile dressings. Feed or assist in feeding. Launder clothing and household linens. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties. Provide companionship. Provide personal care. Target audience: Females. Males. Over 12 years. Persons with an intellectual disability. Persons with physical disabilities. Experience with special needs children: Assistance with mobility. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Walking. Personal suitability: Dependability. Organized. Reliability. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?. Do you currently reside in proximity to the advertised location?. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year. Support for newcomers and refugees: Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.). Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.). Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees . Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees . Does not require Canadian work experience. Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth.- LocationDuncan, BC
