Peterbilt Manitoba Ltd. is looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated _Junior Accountant _to join the Winnipeg General/Admin team. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the _Junior Accountant _is responsible for daily accounting processes as well as weekly and monthly accounting tasks.
*The Role:*
* Oversee general ledger account reconciliations and working paper preparation
* Process and reconcile credit card payments for Accounts Payable
* Reconcile daily cash and credit card receipts and prepare daily deposit for Accounts Receivable
* Prepare and distribute weekly/monthly reports to Management; conduct ad hoc miscellaneous reporting as requested
* Process warranty claim credits and associated payment receipts
* Prepare and process online bank transactions (EFT, wire payments, bill payments)
* Prepare and file sales tax returns
* Conduct bank account reconciliations
* Other duties as assigned
*Qualifications:*
* A college diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related program is required
* A minimum of 1-year related experience is required
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
* System savvy and able to work with different applications and databases; previous experience with QuickBooks and CDK/ADP Drive is considered an asset
* Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in performing all essential duties
* Exemplary planning and time management skills with diligent respect for deadlines
* Tenacious problem solver with the ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
