Job details
Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Tasks: Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Train or arrange for training. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Set up machines and equipment. Supervise workers and projects. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Machinist Trade Certification. Tool and Die Maker Trade Certification. Certification by a provincial or territorial association. Tool and Die Maker Red Seal Certificate. Machinist Red Seal Endorsment. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. Programming software. Mastercam CAD/CAM. Policy and program experience: Apprenticeship training. Equipment and machinery experience: Surface grinders. Milling machines. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Bondable.
