Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Child care centre. Tasks: Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers. Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children. Order supplies and equipment. Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records. Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors. Knowledge of licensing regulations. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children. Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children. Advise on menu selections. Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions. Prepare funding and grant applications and proposals. Invoice clients. Oversee payroll administration. Prepare bank reconciliations. Supervision: 5-10 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Child development assistant (ECE level 1). Child development supervisor (ECE level 3). Child development worker (ECE level 2). Food allergy and anaphylaxis training. Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Area of specialization: Reports. Fundraising.
