Job details
*Responsibilities to include but not limited to: *
Managing arriving patients, updating patient demographics and verifying OHIP cards
Answering phones, reminders and screening for all appointments.
Responding to telephone inquiries and returning messages.
Handling incoming and outgoing mail, faxes and shipments.
Coordinating with referring offices and medial laboratories.
Scanning documents into patient charts.
Booking appointments
Process patients accounts receivable and payable (cheque and cash payments) when required
Ordering supplies, filing, faxing, sending and following up on referrals.
Proofreading and sending consult letters.
Sanitizing waiting room chairs between patients.
*Skills and Qualifications: *
Reliable and dependable
Keen eye for detail
Familiar with Accuro (EMR)
Strong computer skills
Medical office administration program or previous experience
Able to multi-tasks, prioritize tasks and be organized
Problem solving skills
Sound knowledge of medical terminology
Good interpersonal and customer service skills with the goal of helping patients
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
