DescriptionUniversity Degree in Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies, Public Administration, or a related field
A minimum of five (5) years professional experience which includes demonstrated competency in project management, strategic planning and community/social development (in particular work with Indigenous non-profits/organizations, leaders, community, and government)
Assets:
An emphasis on Indigenous Studies
Valid drivers' license is considered an asset as there is frequent travel within the City
Knowledge of Indigenous land stewardship, Treaty, Métis Rights, Duty to Consult, and gender-based policy analysis
Skills required for success:
Significant understanding of Indigenous communities, their history, culture and current environment
Personal value base compatible with diversity and inclusion principles, GBA+, and human rights advocacy
