Our client, Surrette Battery Company Ltd., is looking for a Utility Worker to join their team in Springhill, NS. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the ideal candidate has the ability to work in a fast -paced environment.A Utility Worker at Surrette Battery is a full or part-time position that duties may involve, primarily, general factory cleaning, production work, and maintenance. The position may also require a fair amount of physical labour and handling of tools, equip ment, materials as well as products up to 45kg (100lbs).SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Cleaning factory and equipment, common areasWaste removalAssist in maintenance dutiesverifying condition and weights of materials and productscleaning work areas and equipment as well as performing other labouring and elemental activitiesEDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Forklift experience an assetWHIMIS or First Aid tickets, (asset, however, training will be provided)Demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices and proceduresAble to problem solve and use critical thinking and decision making skillsAble to follow oral and written directionsAble to function well in a team environment and to communicate clearly with othersBeing fiexible and adaptableHaving a proactive/preventive approachAble to work with minimal supervisionBeing punctual and reliableExperience in a similar environment would be a definite assetSKILLS:ProductionDiagramsDecision makingCritical ThinkingSafetyMachineryMaintenanceWe thank all interested applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.- LocationSpringhill, NS
