<p>CUPE <p>Comp. 24-569<p>Closing date : 2024-12-10 @ 4:00 pm ESTElementary Head Custodian <p> Location: Timmins Centennial Public School <p>Start date : As soon as possible <p>Vacancy Details: 1.0 (Permanent/full-time, 40 hours/week - 7:00am to 3:00pm)<p> Position Summary: <p>Organize and supervise custodial staff cleaning areas, perform routine cleaning and other related tasks in order to maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment for students, staff and visitors.<p> Requirements: - High School diploma or equivalent - Computer skills (e-mail, data entry, online work orders) - Must have current, Board approved, MHMIS certificate - Experience in custodial work is preferred - Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, product directions and mixing ratios - Work cooperatively and effectively with other staff and supervisors. - Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. - Use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency - Perform medium to heavy physical labor - Meet deadlines with time constraints - Supervisory duties such as: <p>- direct and supervise custodial staff to maintain a high level of cleanliness in the facility<p>- organize and implement work schedules<p>- set priorities and re-arrange staff schedules to accommodate emergencies<p>- report writing and planning project work<p>- training custodial staff to ensure understanding of WHMIS requirements and necessity of work safety<p>- inputting staff absences and replacement employees using the Smartfind absence system<p>- performing inspections and maintaining digital logs<p>- requisitioning of materials, supplies, and equipment<p>Salary as per the current CUPE collective agreement Collective Agreements (dsb1.ca) Interested Candidates: <p>Postings can be found on the DSB1 website at www.dsb1.ca and on ApplytoEducation at www.applytoeducation.com.
