Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Work site environment: Interior. Work setting: Office. Tasks: Conduct economic analyses. Conduct feasibility studies. Plan and design buildings. Conduct site visits to gather relevant information . Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements. Develop construction specifications and procedures. Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations. Establish and monitor construction work schedules. Evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materials. Prepare contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for construction projects. Provide customer service. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Area of work experience: Design. Research and development. Project management. Production. Construction specialization: Industrial, commercial and institutional. Transportation specialization: Bridges and overpasses. Municipal specialization: Sewers and sewage treatment. Storm drainage and control. Water control system and structures. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Personal suitability: Leadership. Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Judgement. Organized. Team player.
