Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders. Prescribe medication and treatment . Refer patients for surgery. Treat diseases and physiological disorders . Act as consultants to other physicians. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC). Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II). Specialty residency training. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Specialization in clinical medicine: Pediatrics. Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication.
