Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Professionalism in customer service. Drive lighter, special purpose trucks. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Driver's License (Class 3 or D). First Aid Certificate. Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate. Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Bill of lading. Dangerous goods occurrence reports. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Liquid bulk. Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles). Transportation/travel experience: Local. Short-haul. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Drive manual transmission vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Sitting. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
