Our highly skilled Meat Production Clerks are trained here to prepare the outstanding quality cuts that Safeway has built its reputation on. Become part of the team that offers our customers some of our best-selling products.Here's where you'll be focusing:Experience Strong preference will be given to candidates with previous Retail Meat Cutting experienceKnowledgeable of various cuts of meat an asset. Safeway specific training will be providedKey Responsibilities Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situationsGreets customers in a polite and friendly mannerDemonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway's programsCut and prepare meat products for display using knives and sawsStocking various meat products to shelvesMaintaining and building merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programsUse of commercial power equipmentOrder writingReceiving and rotating productFilling product showcasesCleaning and sanitizing of work areaWhat you have to offer:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Ability to learn quicklyAbility to work in a fast paced environmentHighly motivated and team orientedAbility to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written formPossess strong Customer Service qualitiesWorks in a Safe and responsible mannerAvailable to work flexible hoursEvening and weekend availability is strongly encouragedPrevious Retail Meat Cutting experience an assetMust be available to be scheduled anytime on Sunday (Alberta Only)Physical Requirements (Seldom: Not Daily, Rare: 0-5% of shift, Occasional: 6-33% of shift, Frequent: 34-66% of shift, Constant: 66-100% of shift) Constant lifting of up to 20 poundsConstant hand coordination, reaching and grippingFrequent standing, squatting, bending, walking, twisting, pushing or pullingOccasional lifting of between 20-100 poundsOccasional exposure to cold temperaturesWe offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package, which varies by role and designed to help our teammates to live better - physically, financially and emotionally.
