SOCIAL DEVELOPMENTADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT(Administrative Services - Level 3)OPEN COMPETITIONCENTRAL ZONEThe Department of Social Development is seeking an individual to join the Administrative Services Team as an Administrative Support in the Miramichi office of the Central Zone.As a member of the Administrative Services team, the successful candidate will be responsible to provide a variety of administrative support services to the general public and all levels of staff within the office. Responsibilities may include:Providing general information, responding to a wide range of routine and complex telephone inquiries and/or walk-in clients,Evaluating inquiries,Directing clients and/or the general public to the appropriate employee or resource,Filing, scanning, and performing data entry,Handling of incoming and outgoing mail,Receiving payments and cash handling,Preparation of legal and other correspondenceMaintaining a supplies inventory,Other duties may be assigned as required.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED supplemented by successful completion of a one (1) year post-secondary diploma in Office Administration or other completed post-secondary education in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years related administrative work experience. OR High School Diploma supplemented by completion of at least a two (2) year related post-secondary program and a minimum of two (2) years related administrative work experience. OR High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of four (4) years related administrative work experience. Spoken competence in both English and French is required. Please state your language capability.Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.
