OSSTF - Education Workers <p>The Near North District School Board invites applications for: <p>1.0 Permanent Mental Health Clinician - North Region <p>Effective December 16, 2024 <p> <p> <p>L ocation: North Bay and Surrounding Communities including Sturgeon Falls & Mattawa <p>Duties: <p><p> Provide clinical consultation, assessment, and brief counselling related to student mental health and well-being, while working collaboratively with parent/guardian(s), school staff and community partners <p> Identify and provide support to address the various ways that oppression may be operating and impacting a student?s life and school engagement<p> Provide crisis consultation and intervention for student mental health and well-being concerns<p> Work in collaboration with school Administration, staff, and community services in clinically assessing and responding to Threat Assessment protocols in schools<p> Provide resource navigation to mental health and/or community agencies for students and/or their families<p> Work in collaboration with agencies (e.g. child protection, healthcare, children?s mental health, etc.) in supporting the mental health and well-being of NNDSB students.<p> Provide support and guidance in the implementation of mental health promotion activities and student voice initiatives<p> Maintain up-to-date records involving direct and indirect service to students in compliance with the standards outlined by the OCSWSSW or CRPO<p> Contribute to the professional learning/psychoeducation of Board staff, students, and/or families<p> Engage in professional learning development activities as requested by Supervisor and/or the Board that is aligned with system initiatives and/or consistent with the duties of the role<p> Support the mental health program referral intake process as needed<p> Carry out other duties as may be assigned by the Mental Health Lead and/or the Superintendent of Education<p><p>Education, Experience, and Qualifications: <p><p> Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Psychotherapy with registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Work or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) is required<p> Training in clinical interviewing and evidence-informed interventions with children and youth is required<p> Experience providing various treatment modalities (CBT, Motivational Interviewing, DBT strategies, etc.,) to children and youth is required<p> Ability to support culturally relevant and identity affirming programming to a diverse group of students and parents is required<p> Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals is required<p> Strong verbal and written communication skills are required<p> Experience working in educational settings is an asset<p> Experience leading in-service training or making public presentations is an asset<p> Valid driver?s license and reliable vehicle is required<p><p>Annual Salary: $62,088.00 to $75,758.00 <p> <p>Please ensure your have uploaded your applicable Educational Diploma(s) and/or Degree(s) to your Apply to Education Portfolio <p> <p>We actively encourage applications from members of groups with historical and/or current barriers to equity.<p>All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada<p><p>The Near North District School Board is committed to supporting an inclusive and accessible environment.
